Fire extinguished in hotel in central Kyiv: 57 people evacuated
On the morning of Wednesday, 5 February, a fire broke out in one of the hotels on Khreshchatyk Street in the centre of Kyiv. The fire brigade received a report of the fire at 08:10.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the fire broke out in a room on the third floor of the hotel. During the firefighting operation, 57 people, including one child, were evacuated from the upper floors of the building.
Seventy rescuers and 11 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. The fire was completely extinguished by 08:40, covering an area of about 30 square metres. There were no casualties or injuries as a result of the fire.
Law enforcement agencies are currently investigating the cause of the fire. Rescuers note that thanks to their quick response, they were able to prevent the fire from spreading and avoid more serious consequences.
