The Netherlands' youngest prime minister, Robert Jetten, has been sworn in — the government has been sworn in
This was reported by The Public with reference to Koninklijk Huis. The
new Dutch government headed by Robert Jetten was officially sworn in by King Willem-Alexander at the royal palace near The Hague.
The 38-year-old Jetten heads a minority coalition government formed with the participation of his centrist D66 party, as well as the centre-right Christian Democratic Appeal and the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy.
The coalition holds 66 of the 150 seats in the lower house of parliament, so the government will have to negotiate with opposition political forces to pass legislation.
During the swearing-in ceremony, the king wished the new government success in its work amid an uncertain international situation.
The ceremony took place 117 days after the parliamentary elections, in which Jetten's party received the most support, with a slight advantage over the Freedom Party.
The new prime minister said the government intends to continue supporting Ukraine and investing in strengthening the Netherlands' defence capabilities.
