Russian strike on critical infrastructure in Zhytomyr region: injured, fires and blackouts
On the night of 11 January, Russian troops attacked critical infrastructure facilities in Zhytomyr region. The attack resulted in injuries and fires. This was reported by the head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Bunechko.
According to him, two employees were injured as a result of the shelling. The victims received injuries of moderate severity and were hospitalised.
The hit caused fires. The rescuers' work was complicated by repeated air raids. As of this morning, one of the fires has been extinguished, and another is still underway.
In addition, emergency power outages were introduced in Korosten district. Zhytomyroblenergo called on residents to disconnect electrical appliances sensitive to voltage surges.
Russian troops have previously struck residential buildings and shops in the region. Six people were reportedly injured, including two children, and a four-year-old child was among the dead.
