Ukrainian drones attacked oil depots in the Krasnodar Krai and Ufa
On the night of 25 June, Ukrainian drones attacked the ‘Poltavska’ oil depot in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai. According to the Kuban Operational Headquarters, a fire broke out after debris from the UAV fell onto the site.
According to preliminary information, there were no casualties. Due to the incident, traffic on the road from the village of Poltavska to the hamlet of Trudobelikovskoye was temporarily suspended. Emergency and special services are working at the scene.
The ‘Poltavska’ oil depot is a regional fuel infrastructure facility and supplies petrol and diesel to parts of the Krasnodar Krai and the Republic of Adygea. The depot’s tank farm comprises 28 tanks. According to monitoring sources, three tanks caught fire following the attack.
This is the third attack on the facility in the last month. The oil depot was previously struck on 6 and 16 June. In both instances, the attacks were accompanied by large-scale fires.
Also, on the morning of 25 June, drones attacked an oil refinery in Ufa. The facility is located more than 1,500 kilometres from Ukrainian territory.
A thick plume of smoke rose above the plant following a series of explosions. Details of the attack’s consequences are still being ascertained.
The Ufa oil refinery is one of the largest in Russia. The plant is part of the Bashneft oil refining complex and supplies a significant proportion of the region’s fuel market.
Occupied Crimea was also targeted in the attack last night. According to monitoring channels, strikes were recorded at the Balaklava Thermal Power Station, the Tavriya Thermal Power Station and the ‘Kacha’ airfield.
Short-term power cuts were reported in a number of towns on the peninsula, including Simferopol, Yalta and near Yevpatoria. Explosions were also heard in Simferopol. Sevastopol was also subjected to a massive attack.
Ukraine continues to strike at Russia’s fuel and logistics infrastructure. At the same time, attacks aimed at disrupting supplies to occupied Crimea from Russian territory are ongoing.
