Ukraine will take part in the NATO summit in Turkey – Zelenskyy
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, made this statement at a press conference with the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, in Kyiv.
He noted that it is too early to discuss the details of the delegation, but Ukraine will definitely be present at the event.
“Regarding the NATO summit. Ukraine will be represented at the NATO summit in Turkey. How? In what format? Who? It is too early to say,” the president noted.
The next Alliance summit is scheduled for 7 and 8 July at the Beştepe Presidential Complex (Külliye) in Ankara.
This is the second time Turkey will host a NATO summit. The first such meeting on Turkish soil took place in Istanbul in 2004. At that time, participants welcomed seven new members of the Alliance: Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. In addition, NATO members discussed expanding their military presence in Afghanistan and withdrawing troops from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
