Ukrainian forces have attacked a major oil refinery in Ufa, Russia: what we know
This is reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This oil refinery in Bashkortostan is one of Russia’s largest producers of high-quality lubricants (marine, hydraulic and motor). It processes around 7 million tonnes of crude oil annually. The plant is a key component of the Russian Federation’s fuel and energy complex and is involved in meeting the needs of the Russian army.
A fire broke out on the plant’s premises following the attack. OSINT sources reported that the key primary oil refining unit, AVT-5, was on fire. It had already come under attack in October last year.
In addition, last night and the night before, the ‘Kulikovsky’ firing range, an oil depot and an ammunition depot in the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia were hit, whilst fuel and lubricant depots and ammunition depots in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions were also targeted.
