The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre has warned of fake news surrounding the weather forecast
This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre.
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre noted that a cold air mass of Arctic origin is currently dominating over Ukraine. It is this that is causing the expected frosts in many regions over the next two nights.
The agency also stated that the weather picture remains varied. Meanwhile, in Kyiv, the week will be influenced by cold air from northern Europe.
Already on the night of 21 April, apart from the northern regions, and during the day in the Carpathian foothills, Zakarpattia, the south and south-east of Ukraine, moderate, and in places heavy, rain is forecast. Wet snow is expected in the Carpathians.
It is also noted that in the east of the country there is a slight chance of rain briefly turning to wet snow. In some places, it may linger briefly on surfaces, but will melt quickly due to above-zero temperatures.
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre has emphasised that the public should rely only on official sources. The agency stressed that its forecasts are often misrepresented by the media, which creates a false impression of the actual weather situation.
Forecasters also warned of deteriorating weather conditions in Ukraine on 21–22 April. Rain is expected in most regions, with wet snow in the Carpathians. Due to the arrival of cold air masses, air temperatures will be below the seasonal average.
The report specifically notes that night-time frosts could damage early-flowering fruit trees, particularly in the central and northern regions.
As reported by ThePublic, a sharp drop in temperature is expected in most regions of Ukraine in the coming days. Meteorologists are warning of frosts both on the ground and in the air.
