У 2025 році в українських судах перебувало 33 447 заяв на стягнення аліментів, з яких 88% були розглянуті. Водночас на кінець року в Україні нараховувалося понад 208 тисяч проваджень через заборгованість зі сплати аліментів.

This was reported by OpenDataBot, citing data from the State Judicial Administration.

In 2025, Ukrainian courts were considering 33,447 applications for the recovery of alimony.

The vast majority of them were filed last year - 31,827 claims.

This is 5% less than in 2024.

At the same time, over the past 10 years, the number of new applications for child support has more than halved.

Over the year, the courts considered 31,587 cases.

A total of 28,544 cases were resolved.

In 86% of cases, the claims were upheld.

In total, in 2025, the courts awarded UAH 60.02 million in alimony.

This is 22% more than in 2024.

On average, each case in 2025 amounted to UAH 2,500.

For comparison, in 2024 this figure was UAH 1,900, and in 2021 - UAH 1,200.

In 2016, courts received 66,014 claims for alimony, in 2017 - 62,167, in 2018 - 66,421, in 2019 - 54,739, in 2020 - 44,954, in 2021 - 43,602, in 2022 - 27,426, in 2023 - 36,691, in 2024 - 33,364, and in 2025 - 31,827.

The number of cases considered with satisfaction of the claim also changed every year.

In 2016, there were 55,962 such cases, in 2017 - 53,224, in 2018 - 49,589, in 2019 - 45,398, in 2020 - 37,167, in 2021 - 35,798, in 2022 - 23,073, in 2023 - 27,742, in 2024 - 25,753, and in 2025 - 24,164.

The amount of alimony awarded for collection also increased.

In 2016, it amounted to UAH 14.56 million, in 2017 - UAH 11.81 million, in 2018 - UAH 15.58 million, in 2019 - UAH 30.88 million, in 2020 - UAH 36.88 million, in 2021 - UAH 43.81 million, in 2022 - UAH 29.12 million, in 2023 - UAH 43.61 million, in 2024 - UAH 49.19 million, and in 2025 - UAH 60.02 million.

Judge Petro Tyshkun explained that the statistics on alimony collection in lawsuits do not show the full picture.

According to him, plaintiffs often choose a faster method - collection based on court orders.

"Most alimony is collected on the basis of court orders, where the collector has two options to choose from: to collect a fixed amount of money, which is 50% of the subsistence minimum for a child of the corresponding age, or alimony as a share of the debtor's earnings, which is 1/4, 1/3 or 1/2 share. However, because many payers show only minimal official income, the amount of payments often remains minimal," said Judge Petro Tyshkun.

At the same time, a court decision alone does not guarantee the actual payment of alimony.

At the end of 2025, there were more than 208,000 cases of alimony debt in Ukraine.

Over the year, this category of the Debtors Register grew by 1,172 cases, despite the fact that new cases were simultaneously added to and closed from the register throughout the year.

In 91% of cases, the debtors are men.

At the same time, the article notes that one person may be involved in several cases.

The commission’s lack of transparency and its turning a blind eye to corruption – a lawyer has criticised the conduct of the ESBU’s performance appraisal

Stanislav Bronevitsky, a former prosecutor with the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) and a lawyer, has claimed that the Economic Security Bureau’s (ESBU) appraisal committees make non-transparent decisions and turn a blind eye to corruption offences. To back up his claims, he published excerpts from interviews with 5 ESBU staff members who had already successfully passed their performance reviews, despite the fact that commission members had raised questions about their assets and integrity.
