Easter basket 2026: how much do Easter cakes, meat, eggs and Cahors wine cost?
Easter basket
In Ukraine, the cost of an Easter basket in 2026 will start at 1,200 UAH, whilst an extended or artisanal set will cost several times more. Meat products remain the most expensive items, whilst prices for Easter cakes range from a few dozen to several thousand hryvnias, depending on weight, size and manufacturer.

In Ukraine, estimates have already been made of how much an Easter basket will cost in 2026. According to data from supermarkets, basic festive sets start at 1,200 UAH, whilst the cost of extended and premium options rises to 2,300 UAH and 4,660 UAH respectively.

The Silpo chain has divided its ready-made Easter sets into three categories. The budget basket, starting at 1,200 UAH, includes a classic Easter cake, meat, cheese and groceries, mainly from the supermarket’s own brands. The extended option, starting at 2,300 UAH, is complemented by Italian panettone, a gourmet meat platter and drinks. The premium set, starting at 4,660 UAH, consists of gourmet cheeses, premium meat and exclusive baked goods from artisan producers.

There has been a particular focus on the cost of Easter cakes. In Silpo, Novus and Auchan supermarkets, a small Easter cake weighing 100–150 grams costs between 40 and 70 UAH. Medium-sized Easter cakes weighing 250–450 grams are sold for between 60 and 100 UAH. A large panettone weighing 500–600 grams costs between 400 and 850 UAH, whilst a cheese Easter cake with dried fruit costs 599 UAH.

Craft baked goods remain the most expensive segment. A custom-made Easter cake at The Cake costs from 500 UAH, at Honey from 1,000 UAH, and at Namelaka or Cheesecake Family, festive baked goods cost between 1,500 and 2,000 UAH.

The meat section of the Easter basket in 2026 remains the most expensive. A kilogram of “Yatran” smoked pork costs 710 UAH. Salami is sold from 169 UAH for 450 grams, Italian salami at 531 UAH per kilogram, and servelat at 596 UAH per kilogram. “Drohobych” sausage costs 890 UAH per kilogram, “Krakow” sausage costs 687 UAH per kilogram, and cooked-smoked sausage starts at 450 UAH per kilogram. Separately, Torre de Nunez Fuet sausage costs 299 UAH for 250 grams.

The traditional Easter hamper also includes eggs, butter, cheese, horseradish and Cahors wine. A dozen eggs will cost an average of 87 UAH. A 200-gram pack of butter costs 107 UAH. Cottage cheese is sold for 237 UAH. Horseradish root costs between 200 and 270 UAH per kilogram. Cahors wine is sold in shops for between 140 and 190 UAH.

Thus, a basic Easter basket in 2026 can still be put together using a minimal supermarket selection, but artisanal baked goods, premium sausages and delicacies quickly drive up the total cost. As is traditional, meat products make up the largest part of the festive selection.
