Power outages after shelling: areas of Ukraine without electricity
This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
As of this morning, new power outages have been recorded in the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions. Where the security situation allows, energy companies are already carrying out emergency repair work to restore power to consumers as quickly as possible.
The ministry noted that the consequences of previous massive attacks by the Russian Federation continue to affect the operation of the power system. Because of this, most regions are applying power restriction schedules for industrial consumers, as well as hourly power cuts for the population. In some areas, emergency power cuts have been introduced, where previously announced schedules are temporarily not in effect.
Electricity consumption remains at seasonal levels. As of 9:30 a.m. on 25 February, it was 1.6% higher than at the same time the previous day. At the same time, maximum consumption on 24 February was 1.5% lower than the day before, which is explained by the rise in air temperature.
The Ministry of Energy has called on citizens to use electricity sparingly and, if possible, to shift the use of powerful electrical appliances to night-time hours - after 23:00. This will reduce the load on the system during periods of peak consumption.
At the same time, Ukraine continues to import electricity from European Union countries and Moldova in accordance with the agreed volumes of inter-state crossings.
The situation in the energy system remains dynamic and depends on the security situation and the pace of restoration of damaged facilities.
