From now on, Ukrainian SIMs in the EU work on the Roam Like at Home principle
On 1 January, Ukraine became a full-fledged participant in the European Roam Like at Home policy, according to The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. From now on, Ukrainians can use their SIM cards in EU countries on the same terms as at home, without additional charges for calls, messages and mobile internet.
Previously, free roaming depended on temporary agreements with European operators. Now the rule is officially enshrined, and Ukraine has become the first candidate country to join Roam Like at Home even before joining the EU
For those who are temporarily in Europe, home tariffs are valid for up to 120 days. At the same time, for Ukrainians living in the EU, domestic tariffs are available continuously until at least March 2027 under the current agreement between the operators. If extended, these conditions will continue to apply. The policy also works both ways for Europeans residing in Ukraine
