The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, has effectively confirmed that she will be stepping down from her post. Following a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, she stated that she had discussed her future role with the head of state and was ready to take on new responsibilities for Ukraine

Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this on her Telegram channel.

Svyrydenko expressed her gratitude for the work carried out within the government

According to the Prime Minister, during her meeting with the President, they discussed the challenges facing Ukraine, the need to step up the government’s efforts and the development of cooperation with international partners.

Svyrydenko thanked Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his trust and for his high praise of the government team’s work. She noted that it had been an honour for her to lead the Cabinet of Ministers during the most difficult period in Ukraine’s recent history.

She also expressed her gratitude to the Ukrainian armed forces and all members of the government, emphasising that the team had managed to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of the state, take the necessary decisions and sustain the country’s economy amidst a full-scale war.

What plans did Svyrydenko outline?

The Prime Minister reported that during her conversation with the President, they also discussed her future role.

“I am ready to continue serving the Ukrainian state and carrying out tasks aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s position, protecting national interests and bringing about a just peace,” she wrote.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously announced that he had offered Yulia Svyrydenko the opportunity to lead a new area of work in Ukraine’s relations with one of its key international partners. At the same time, the head of state announced a reshuffle of the Cabinet of Ministers.
