President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that large-scale personnel changes are being prepared within the government. These will affect the Cabinet of Ministers, law enforcement agencies and a new model for the implementation of Ukraine’s foreign policy

Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on his Telegram channel.

According to the head of state, Ukraine is adopting a new approach to foreign relations: each key international area will be overseen by a specific individual, who will bear personal responsibility for implementing agreements with partners.

Which areas has Zelenskyy identified?

The President has identified cooperation with the United States as a priority, in particular the implementation of agreements on the licensed production of Patriot systems and the development of a security partnership.

Particular attention is to be paid to the European missile defence project, negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, and relations with neighbouring states, primarily Poland and Hungary.

The list of strategic priorities also includes the countries of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf, China, and engagement with international organisations that could influence the end of the war and strengthen support for Ukraine.

Changes are afoot in the government and law enforcement agencies

Zelenskyy announced that he had already discussed a reshuffle of the government with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. According to him, the current head of the Cabinet is set to lead a new important area of cooperation with one of Ukraine’s key international partners.

The President thanked Svyrydenko for her work as Prime Minister and noted that he expects to make the necessary personnel decisions in the near future with the support of the Verkhovna Rada. In addition, the Head of State announced changes among the leadership of law enforcement agencies.

What else did the President highlight?

Among the main domestic priorities, Zelenskyy cited stepping up efforts in frontline and border regions, increasing the supply of weapons and drones to the Defence Forces, preparing the country for the next heating season, reforming state-owned companies and accelerating the implementation of international projects for Ukraine’s reconstruction.
