Zelenskyy to visit Warsaw on 19 December for talks with Polish President
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Warsaw on 19 December to hold talks with Polish President Karol Nawrocki. The information about the meeting was confirmed by the Polish president's office.
According to the spokesman for the Polish President Rafał Leskiewicz, the parties are agreeing on the details of the visit, and the key topics of the talks will be security, economy and historical issues. The meeting will take place against the backdrop of the active phase of Russia's war against Ukraine and the growing role of Poland as one of Kyiv's key partners in Europe.
It is expected that significant attention will be paid to security cooperation, in particular support for Ukraine, strengthening NATO's eastern flank and regional stability. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Poland has provided Ukraine with large-scale military, humanitarian and political assistance and remains one of the main logistical hubs for Western support.
A separate block of talks will focus on economic issues, including trade, transit and the recovery of Ukraine. The presidents also plan to discuss complex historical topics that are traditionally present in the Ukrainian-Polish dialogue.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy publicly confirmed that he had accepted the invitation of the Polish side and was ready to visit on 19 December. It is expected that the meeting in Warsaw will be of great political importance for further coordination of the two countries' actions in Europe.
