Zelensky honours volunteers: 50 more heroes receive the Golden Heart award
The President of Ukraine awarded the "Golden Heart" state honors to 50 volunteers whose civic initiatives and assistance have made a significant contribution to supporting the military, internally displaced persons, and those affected by the war. The award document has been published on the official website of the head of state.
Among those recognized is the well-known public activist Sternenko, who received the award for many years of volunteer activity. In his speech, the president emphasized that it is the Volunteers with a capital "V" who help the country withstand — supporting the army, assisting cities and communities affected by Russian Federation aggression.
The decree provides that the awardees will receive state honors, as well as other symbolic signs of recognition, aimed at emphasizing the importance of volunteer work during wartime. According to the president, the decision to award was made considering how much volunteers do for the country "without pomp, but with great responsibility."
Among those awarded are people involved in logistics assistance, evacuation, front-line support, aid to internally displaced persons, medical assistance, infrastructure reconstruction, and many other areas. The recognition has become a symbol of gratitude for their self-sacrifice and work for victory and the restoration of Ukraine.
The president called on all Ukrainians to remember: volunteering is not just words, but concrete actions. And even in the darkest times — volunteers with a "Golden Heart" give hope for the future.
