Zelensky: New round of peace talks may be held in the US
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the next meetings between the negotiating teams of Ukraine, the United States and Russia are planned in the near future. According to him, there is a high probability that the United States will be the venue for the new round.
In an evening video address on 5 February, Zelenskyy said that he had heard a report from the Ukrainian negotiating team after two days of talks in the Emirates with the American and Russian sides. The President added that he was expecting the delegation in Kyiv for a full report, as many aspects cannot be discussed properly over the phone.
The head of state stressed that Ukraine is ready for all working formats that can really bring peace closer and make it reliable and lasting, as well as one that will deprive Russia of its appetite to continue the war.
At the same time, Zelenskyy emphasised the key principle of Ukraine's position: the war must end in such a way that Russia receives no reward for its aggression, because, according to the President, this is what restores and guarantees true security. He also thanked partners who support Ukraine in this approach.
