Zelenskyy to attend EU leaders' summit on Thursday
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will take part in the European Union leaders' summit on Thursday. This is reported by The Public with reference to Bloomberg.
The President is expected to address the EU leaders during discussions on further support for Ukraine, including funding for 2026 and 2027 and the use of frozen Russian assets. The European Commission and the IMF estimate that Ukraine's total needs for these two years are around €137 billion, of which the EU should provide approximately two-thirds.
The summit will take place against the backdrop of complex negotiations within the EU on mechanisms to help Kyiv and guarantees for individual member states. At the same time, European leaders see Ukraine as a key element of their own security and stability on the continent.
According to Bloomberg's informed sources, Zelenskyy's participation in the summit should strengthen the position of supporters of quick decision-making and speed up agreements on long-term support for Ukraine.
