Zelensky agrees to an "aggressive signing schedule" of the agreement according to the US plan, - media
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. Army Secretary Den Driscoll agreed on a specific schedule for signing the agreement according to the U.S. plan. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine.
According to sources of the publication, Zelensky assured the American delegation during negotiations in Kyiv that he is ready to work with Washington on a peace plan.
An unnamed Ukrainian official told journalists that Driscoll handed Zelensky a written copy of the plan. At the same time, as clarified by an unnamed American official, Zelensky and Driscoll "agreed on a strict schedule" for signing the agreement in accordance with the U.S. plan.
Axios interlocutors state that during the negotiations, the President of Ukraine "was more accommodating".
Also, journalists found out that initially Driscoll's delegation planned to go to Ukraine to discuss military technologies and strategy, but then the White House asked him to help "launch negotiations" with Zelensky on behalf of U.S. Special Envoy Steve Vitoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
As Axios reports, the administration of President Donald Trump throughout the day tried to assure Ukraine and its European allies that the plan is not final and that their positions will be taken into account.
In particular, U.S. Special Representative Steve Vitoff told German Foreign Minister Jochann Wadeful in a phone call that the new plan is a "framework of ideas" that includes "the positions of Ukraine and Russia".
"If people do not like certain parts of the plan, they should let us know, and we will try to find a compromise," - quotes Wadoful's words Vitoff, an unnamed American official.
Recall that yesterday, November 19, information appeared that the U.S. prepared a peace plan for Ukraine with the participation of Russian officials. It was worked on by U.S. President's Special Envoy Steve Vitoff and Russian dictator Kirill Dmytriev.
Western media found out that the plan reflected Moscow's ultimatums to Ukraine. It involved full control of the Donbas by Russia and reduction of the Ukrainian army's size.
Today, November 20, such a plan was handed to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The Office of the President emphasized that Ukraine will support substantive proposals for establishing genuine peace.
