Zelensky convened an energy conference call: after the attacks, the situation is most difficult in several regions
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a special energy conference call dedicated to eliminating the consequences of Russian strikes and increasing the resilience of cities and communities. The head of state wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
According to the president, reports were received from all regions of the country. Emergency repair work is continuing across almost the whole of Ukraine, but the situation remains most difficult in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, as well as in the Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions. After the night attack, additional challenges arose in Gostomel, Bucha and Irpin, where all relevant services are involved. During the day, Zelenskyy noted, the situation in Odesa should also stabilise. Some reports also concerned the Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
The head of state thanked the repair crews, the State Emergency Service, energy companies and municipal services for their work amid constant attacks.
Separately, the president instructed that the heating problems in Kyiv be thoroughly investigated. He stressed that there are currently discrepancies between the reports of the city authorities and government agencies regarding the number of buildings without heat, and emphasised the need for maximum involvement of the Ministry of Energy and central authorities to help people. Zelensky also noted the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which quickly set up additional support points and expanded the operation of the 112 hotline.
In addition, he stressed the need to urgently increase electricity imports and more actively attract additional equipment from international partners. According to him, all the necessary decisions for this have already been made and must be implemented without delay.
Zelenskyy also announced specific instructions to the Minister of Defence of Ukraine regarding the work of the Air Force and strengthening the protection of Ukrainian airspace, noting that the relevant decisions are being prepared.
