The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has arrived in Evian, France, where he is taking part in a special session of the G7 summit dedicated to Ukraine. A series of bilateral meetings with leaders of states and international organisations is also scheduled as part of the visit.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has arrived in the French town of Evian to take part in the special ‘G7 Ukraine’ session, which is being held as part of the G7 Leaders’ Summit.

Upon arrival at the hotel where the summit is taking place, the Ukrainian head of state was met by French President Emmanuel Macron. A brief meeting of the leaders was also scheduled before the start of the proceedings.

As part of the summit programme, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is taking part in a working meeting on ‘Ensuring Peace and Security for Ukraine and Europe’. The leaders of the G7 nations are participating in the meeting alongside the Ukrainian president.

The President’s press secretary, Serhiy Nikiforov, announced that bilateral talks are scheduled throughout the day between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

The G7 summit is taking place from 15 to 17 June in the French resort town of Évian-les-Bains on the shores of Lake Geneva. Among the topics being discussed by the participants are peace talks to end Russia’s war against Ukraine, as well as the situation regarding Iran, in particular the signing of an agreement with the US and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.

On the eve of the summit, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the summit participants intend to discuss support for Ukraine, ending the war, the situation regarding Iran and the issue of opening the Strait of Hormuz.
