2026 World Cup: Saudi Arabia and Uruguay drew, while Iran shared the points with New Zealand
The final stages of the 23rd FIFA World Cup are currently underway in Mexico, the USA and Canada.
No winners were decided in the last matches of the fifth day of play. At Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, the national teams of Saudi Arabia and Uruguay drew 1-1. The Saudis took the lead in the 41st minute following a goal by Al-Amri, but Ronald Araújo equalised in the 80th minute.
Another match took place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, where Iran faced New Zealand. The match ended 2-2. Ramin Rezaeian scored for Iran in the 32nd minute and Mohammad Mohammadi in the 64th. Just scored for New Zealand in the 7th and 55th minutes.
On the sixth day of the tournament, the following matches are scheduled: France v Senegal, Iraq v Norway, Argentina v Algeria and Austria v Jordan.
The 2026 World Cup is being held for the first time with 48 national teams taking part. Argentina remain the reigning champions.
The final match of the tournament will take place on 19 July in New York.
The Ukrainian national team failed to qualify for the World Cup finals. The Ukrainian side ended their European qualifying campaign after a 1-3 defeat to Sweden in the semi-finals.
