Zelenskyy is looking to the G7 and the Coalition of the Willing for solutions to bring peace closer
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has stated that over the course of this week and the coming weeks, Ukraine will be working actively with its international partners to bring about peace.
The head of state announced this in a video address.
According to the President, Ukraine faces a busy international schedule ahead, and certain decisions by its partners could prove crucial for strengthening security.
“This week and in the weeks to come, we will be working with our partners. There are things that need to be done to bring peace closer. We have a busy international schedule ahead. We very much look forward to a positive response from the Group of Seven regarding our requests, as well as from the members of the Coalition of the Willing,” said Zelenskyy.
The President emphasised that June and July should prove fruitful for Ukraine, above all in the shared endeavour to ensure security.
“Peace is needed. I thank everyone who is helping us to defend Ukraine; I thank each and every one of you who strengthens our state and does not forget to look after those around you,” said the head of state.
Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that progress must be made in the near future towards resolving Russia’s war against Ukraine through dialogue.
Speaking at the NATO Parliamentary Summit, Mr Erdogan emphasised that Turkey would continue to play an active role in peace efforts.
“As an ally capable of speaking to both sides, which has already initiated fruitful processes and earned the trust of both sides thanks to its impartial stance, we will continue to actively contribute to peace efforts,” said Erdogan.
He also noted that at the NATO summit in Ankara, partners would assess global and regional developments, including the situations regarding Ukraine, Iran, the Persian Gulf and Palestine.
