Poland has explained why Ukraine did not receive MiG-29 fighter jets — due to a refusal to share drone technology
This was stated by Poland’s Minister of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, according to Polsat News.
He stated that he had proposed a partnership-based approach to Ukraine: ‘MiGs in exchange for drones’. According to him, Kyiv initially accepted the proposal but later rejected it.
The Polish minister also acknowledged that Ukraine has significant potential in the field of drones and has recently begun cooperating with countries in the Middle East in this area.
“Ukraine has such significant capabilities in the field of drones that, in return for the military equipment provided to it, it could share its know-how with Poland and grant partial access to its technology,” said Kosiniak-Kamysz.
However, in his statement, he did not describe the unconditional dispatch of military equipment to Ukraine at the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion as a mistake. Kosiniak-Kamysz says he would have done the same.
