The NABU and the SAP have announced new charges against the former executive director for physical protection and security at Energoatom, who is referred to as ‘Tenor’ in the investigation files. According to the investigation, he laundered over 30 million hryvnias obtained through a corruption scheme and used these funds to purchase luxury Mercedes-Benz cars and property in Ukraine and Bali.

Anastasia Berezovskaya, who was suspected in Monaco of attempting to murder businessman Vadim Yermolayev, travelled to Ukraine to see her seven-year-old son. Shortly after her return, her body was found in Ukraine, and a General Directorate of Military Intelligence officer and a former law enforcement officer were arrested on suspicion of murder.

The State Bureau of Investigations has detained a junior sergeant who, at the time of the alleged offences, was serving in the ‘Skelya’ regiment. Investigators suspect him of assaulting two military personnel in the Kharkiv region; the victims include a military chaplain and a lieutenant-colonel.

The European Commission has provisionally found that Meta has breached the EU Digital Services Act due to the design of Facebook and Instagram, which may encourage excessive use of the platforms. The regulator is demanding changes to the way Reels, Stories, autoplay videos and the infinite feed operate.

The resumption of civilian flights in Ukraine could take between three and five months following the adoption of safety measures. The Verkhovna Rada states that the main condition for resuming air services is the protection of specific airports and an agreed action plan involving the military, the government and aviation experts.

The National Bank of Ukraine has unveiled a new 2,000-hryvnia banknote. It is dedicated to the poet, human rights activist and dissident Vasyl Stus, and the banknote will enter circulation on 4 September 2026.

The cruise ship Scarlet Lady, carrying around 2,000 passengers on an LGBTQ+ tour, was denied entry to Egypt without any official explanation. Earlier that week, the ship had been turned away by Turkey, after which the organisers were forced to make a second last-minute change to the itinerary.

In Ukraine, there is no fixed annual limit on the number of sick days, provided the illness is confirmed by medical documents. Payments depend not on the number of days, but on the length of insurance cover, the employee’s status and whether the electronic sick note has been completed correctly.

The increase in public transport fares in Kyiv to 30 UAH has not yet been implemented. The new prices were due to come into effect on 15 July, but the Kyiv City State Administration has explained that the approval process is still ongoing and that a final date for the increase has not yet been set.

In Ukraine, on Friday 10 July, short showers are expected, with thunderstorms, hail and squalls in places. The heaviest rainfall is forecast for the eastern regions, whilst daytime temperatures will range from 15° to 28°, depending on the region.
