A factory producing rocket components has been attacked in Voronezh (VIDEO)
A defence industry facility in Voronezh has been hit. Alexander Gusev, Governor of the Voronezh Region, reported that production facilities had been damaged.
According to him, the attack damaged the production facilities of one of the enterprises.
In addition, the façades and windows of several blocks of flats were damaged.
Gusev did not specify whether the attack involved drones or a missile strike. He had previously warned of a missile threat in the region.
According to monitoring Telegram channels, the strike targeted the Voronezh Semiconductor Devices Plant. Footage of thick smoke rising above the plant has appeared online. Preliminary reports suggest that several storeys of the building may have been damaged.
It is also reported that the ‘VZPP-S’ plant, one of Russia’s leading manufacturers of semiconductor devices, integrated circuits and power modules, was hit.
According to published data, the plant manufactures electronic components for the Kh-101 cruise missiles, the Iskander-K and Kalibr missile systems, the S-400 air defence systems and the Pantsir anti-aircraft systems.
Information regarding the extent of the damage and the possible consequences of the attack is still being clarified.
