A tenfold difference: what are the smallest and largest pensions in Ukraine?
Pensions in Ukraine
In Ukraine, the difference between the minimum and maximum pensions is exactly tenfold – and this difference is enshrined in law.

Tetyana Korol, Deputy Chair of the Board of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, spoke about this.

What is the minimum pension in Ukraine?

From 1 January 2026, the minimum old-age pension will be equal to the subsistence minimum for people unable to work – 2,595 hryvnias per month.

However, there is a condition: to receive this exact amount, a man must have 35 years of insurance contributions, and a woman 30 years. This is stipulated in Article 28 of Law No. 1058.

What is the maximum pension in Ukraine?

The upper limit on payments is ten times the subsistence minimum for those unable to work.

This means that from the start of 2026, the maximum pension cannot exceed 25,950 hryvnias. This is laid down in Article 27 of the same law.
