Anastasia Berezovska, a Ukrainian woman under suspicion
Interpol has named 39-year-old Ukrainian woman Anastasia Berezovska as a suspect in the Monaco bombing, in which Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolayev, who is subject to sanctions, was injured.

ABC News reports this.

An Interpol Red Notice has been issued for Berezovska — this is a request to law enforcement agencies to locate and provisionally arrest the suspect, regardless of where they are found.

The Interpol notice states that 39-year-old Anastasia Berezovska was born in Ukraine. She has dark hair and a tattoo on her right arm, from her shoulder to her elbow, possibly depicting a snake. The woman speaks German.

The Monaco authorities are seeking her arrest on suspicion of attempted murder and other charges.

Initially, the suspect was described as a man, as CCTV footage showed a figure wearing a dark hat and a jacket.

According to the investigation, the person who carried out the attack left a parcel outside a building in Monaco and detonated the explosive using a remote control. They then walked to neighbouring France and fled in a car hired in Germany, returning to Germany via several European countries, including Italy.

The French newspaper Nice-Matin claims that the woman had already scouted the scene of the attack by car on 26 June. Photographs even show her driving past the Révérand-Père-Louis-Frolla roundabout, where the explosion took place three days later.

Investigators believe the suspect did not act alone. Two people were arrested in Monaco earlier this week, but they have since been released.

Attack on Vadym Yermolaev in Monaco: what is known

An explosion occurred in a residential building in Monaco, injuring a family of three Ukrainians. Initial reports suggested that the victims were businessman Vadym Yermolaev, his wife and son. However, it later emerged that it was not the businessman’s wife who was present at the scene, but another woman — she had both legs amputated.

Monaco’s Prime Minister, Christophe Mirman, stated that this was a premeditated attack and a terrorist act. The explosive device, he said, may have contained bolts and metal parts. However, Monaco’s Attorney General later dismissed this claim.

Vadym Yermolayev is a businessman originally from Dnipro; in 2021, Forbes magazine estimated his fortune at 220 million US dollars. He is one of Dnipro’s largest property developers; Yermolayev also has interests in the financial market, the alcohol industry and the agricultural sector.

The media have revealed that the ‘Alef’ group of companies, controlled by the businessman, was also due to supply granite for the construction of the National Military Memorial Cemetery near Kyiv.

According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), he has held Cypriot citizenship since 2018, re-registered his wine and spirits business in occupied Crimea under Russian law, and paid taxes to the Russian Federation’s budget, for which sanctions were imposed against him in Ukraine.

‘Ukrainska Pravda’, citing its sources, reports that French law enforcement officials believe the explosion may have been organised by members of organised crime and that it is allegedly linked to call centres in Dnipro. French media have reported that the Security Service of Ukraine may have been involved in the incident.
