Almost 60 per cent of Poles are against Ukraine joining the EU — a poll
This is evidenced by the results of a poll by IBRiS, commissioned by Radio ZET.
According to the survey results, 35.3% are in favour of Ukraine joining the EU; of these, 8.4% said that Ukraine should definitely do so, whilst 26.9% said it was ‘most likely’ to do so.
Meanwhile, 59.7% of Poles surveyed are against Ukraine joining the EU. 27.4% chose the option ‘probably not’, and 32.3% chose ‘definitely not’.
The survey shows that the majority (64%) of Poles who support the ruling pro-European coalition of parties in Poland (the ‘Civic Coalition’ led by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, the ‘Poland 2050’ movement and others), support Ukraine’s accession to the EU. Only 32 per cent of these parties’ voters feel otherwise.
Among those Poles who support opposition parties (“Law and Justice” and others), 73% are opposed to Ukraine joining the European Union.
