High-pressure system Quirin will bring a change in the weather in Ukraine on 15 April 2026
This is according to weather forecaster Natalka Didenko.
According to Natalka Didenko, on 15 April, weather conditions in Ukraine will be shaped by the ridge of the Finnish anticyclone Quirin. Despite its influence, an easterly atmospheric front will partially affect the north-eastern regions.
That is why dry and sunny weather will prevail in most regions. Light rain is expected only in the Sumy, Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions.
Nights in Ukraine will remain cool. Night-time temperatures will range from +1 to +5 degrees.
During the day, the air will warm up to +12...+17 degrees. It will be cooler in the north-east – from +9 to +12 degrees.
A north-westerly wind is expected, moderate but gusty in places. The forecaster also advised against rushing to switch to overly light clothing, as it will still be chilly outside.
Dry weather is forecast for Kyiv on 15 April. Temperatures in the capital are expected to be +3...+5 degrees at night and up to +15 degrees during the day.
The wind in Kyiv will be north-westerly, gusty in places before midday, and is expected to ease in the afternoon.
Earlier, from 6 April, Ukraine experienced a sharp change in weather conditions due to the intrusion of cold Arctic air and the movement of an active cyclone. This caused a significant drop in temperature with night-time frosts in almost all regions.
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre had already analysed the weather conditions at the start of the month and explained how such temperature fluctuations could affect the future harvest. At the same time, forecasters had previously predicted a gradual return of warmth to Ukraine and an end to night-time frosts, although they warned of possible weather surprises during the week.
As reported by ThePublic, on 15 April, according to the new church calendar, believers honour the Vyshhorod-Volodymyr Icon of the Mother of God. This date also marks Bright Wednesday of Holy Week, with which certain church traditions, folk customs, omens and prohibitions are associated.
