Apple turns to Google to update Siri's artificial intelligence
The Cupertino-based company admits that it has to rely on competitors' technologies to make rapid breakthroughs in artificial intelligence.

Apple has announced a multi-year collaboration with Google, under which some key AI updates, including a more personalised version of the Siri voice assistant, will be based on Gemini models. The companies announced this in a joint statement, emphasising that the partnership should open up "new innovative opportunities" for users of iPhones and other Apple services.

According to the BBC, the decision reflects Apple's cautious and slower strategy in the field of artificial intelligence. Analysts note that the corporation effectively acknowledges that at this stage, its internal developments cannot compete with the scale and power of Google Gemini. At the same time, for consumers, this means faster access to modern AI features that competitors such as Google, Samsung and others have long been betting on.

Apple emphasises that Apple Intelligence will continue to operate within the Private Cloud Compute ecosystem in compliance with privacy standards. However, experts warn that such an agreement could attract the attention of regulators in the US and EU, who have repeatedly investigated the cooperation between the two tech giants due to the risks of market monopolisation.
