Artem Milevskyi has called out a former Barcelona player for remaining silent on the war
Artem Milevskyi spoke about this in an interview with Sport.ua.
Artem Milevskyi commented on the silence of Belarusian athletes regarding Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
According to him, many of his former colleagues see his posts from Kyiv, but almost none of them have personally written to him or expressed their support.
Milevskyi stated that some athletes from Belarus will not understand what Ukrainians have been through until they themselves experience something similar.
Who did he mention?
During the conversation, Milevskyi was asked about Alexander Hleb – a former footballer for Barcelona and Arsenal.
The question referred to the fact that Gleb travels to Russia and takes part in exhibition matches in the aggressor country.
Milevskyi replied that Belarusian athletes see his stories from Kyiv, yet show almost no reaction to what is happening in Ukraine.
Artem Milevskyi was born in Minsk, but played for the Ukrainian national team at professional level and spent most of his career with Dynamo Kyiv.
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, he has repeatedly voiced his public support for Ukraine and commented on the situation in the country.
Alexander Gleb is one of Belarus’s most famous footballers. Over the years, he has played for Stuttgart, Arsenal, Barcelona and the Belarus national team.
