Brazil thrashed Haiti at the 2026 World Cup

The Group C match between Brazil and Haiti ended in a 3–0 victory for the five-time world champions. The Brazilians sealed the result as early as the first half. In the 23rd minute, Matheus Cunha opened the scoring, finding the net following a team attack. Just 13 minutes later, the striker completed his brace. Following a pass from Vinícius Júnior, Cunha fired into the top corner to extend Brazil’s lead. Vinícius himself also found the net before half-time. The forward intercepted the ball in the opposition’s penalty area and set the final score at 3–0.

How the group standings changed after the match
Following two defeats, Haiti became the first team in the 2026 World Cup to be eliminated from the running for a place in the play-offs. For Brazil, this victory was their first of the tournament following an opening draw with Morocco. Furthermore, the Brazilian national team set a new record for the most goals scored in World Cup history, overtaking Germany.
After the second round of matches, the situation in Group C stands as follows:
- Brazil — 4 points;
- Morocco — 4 points;
- Scotland — 3 points;
- Haiti — 0 points.
Brazil’s next match is against Scotland, whilst Haiti will face Morocco. Both matches are scheduled for 25 June.
