Blogger Gleb Repich has responded to criticism over his relationship with an 18-year-old girl

Repich’s post caused the initial stir, in which he stated that his girlfriend is of legal age and that their relationship is consensual.
“My girlfriend is 18 and we’re happy together — I think this combination makes us a perfect target for bullying and hate in our country,” wrote the blogger.
Following this, social media users began actively discussing the girl’s age, the age gap between her and Repich, and the fact that, according to publicly available information on her profile, she had been taking chemistry lessons from him ahead of her exams.
Daryna herself writes on social media that she has ‘finished her studies’ and recounts in her blog what life is like at 18 with a ‘pensioner’.
How Repich responded to the criticism
Repich stated that he had expected criticism directed at him, but, according to him, some users began complaining en masse specifically about Daryna’s Instagram page.
Because of this, the blogger claims, her page was blocked.
“And I thought they’d be targeting me specifically; I don’t really care, I know how society works anyway. But apparently I don’t know enough, because for some reason these ‘grown-up ladies’ launched a mass attack on my girlfriend. Which led to her account being blocked due to a flood of complaints,” wrote Repich.
In the video, he addressed women aged 30 and over specifically, who, in his view, had become the main critics of this relationship. The blogger claimed that they were allegedly jealous of his girlfriend’s youth, beauty and happiness.
“Most of you are spiteful, envious ‘aunties’ with difficult personalities who are angry at the whole world,” he said.
Repich also spoke out sharply against people who had complained about Daryna’s page, stating that either her Instagram account would be unblocked or they would create a new page.
Which comments sparked a new wave of discussion
Under the blogger’s posts, some users openly criticised his relationship.
One commenter wrote that she “would have been happy if the photo showed someone your own age”, but considered a relationship with an 18-year-old to be “cringe”.
Repich replied: “I’m not interested in girls my own age, so don’t be jealous.”
In another comment, the blogger explained why, in his opinion, men feel comfortable with younger girls.
“The only reason men feel at ease with young girls is that they like everything about them. You do something nice, give her a little present, and she’s delighted. She doesn’t walk around with a sour, dissatisfied look on her face because I didn’t buy a Mercedes with the emblem standing upright,” wrote Repich.
Another user tried to defend the couple, pointing out that “our grandmothers and great-grandmothers used to get married at 13 or 14.” In response, Repich wrote: “My grandad stole my grandma away when she was 16 and married her.”
What happened after Daryna’s page was blocked
After Daryna’s page was unblocked, Repich published a new post featuring a series of photos from a photoshoot.
Among them was a provocative photo in which the girl poses half-naked, whilst the blogger covers her breasts with his hands. The girl is also making an obscene gesture at the camera.
In the caption, Repich addressed his critics once again.
“Daryna’s Instagram has finally been unblocked. Now listen to me carefully: I love Daryna very much, and she loves me too. We’ve chosen to be happy, and you’re not going to stop us. Unless, of course, you can write a petition to the president,” he wrote.
The blogger also thanked those who had supported the couple, describing the latest photo as a response to people who had left negative comments.
Why the situation is being discussed on Threads
Following Repich’s posts, the discussion spilled over from Instagram and continued on Threads.
Some users emphasised that the legal age of majority does not always resolve ethical concerns regarding relationships with a significant age gap.
“Not everything that is legal is right,” wrote one user.
Other commenters highlighted the difference in life experience between a man in his 40s and an 18-year-old girl. The concept of ‘grooming’ was also mentioned in the discussion; however, there have been no official statements, legal assessments or reports from law enforcement regarding this situation.
Separately, users criticised the argument that objections to such relationships are allegedly driven solely by ‘the jealousy of older women’.
What the couple’s supporters are saying
Some social media users have also come out in support of Repich and Daryna.
They emphasise that an 18-year-old is of legal age and has the right to choose their own partner.
“Explain to me, what’s the f**k wrong with the couple? So the girl chose her own path at 18? She chose who she wants to be with,” wrote one user.
Other supporters of the couple echoed Repich’s own argument that the criticism is allegedly driven by jealousy of the young woman and her relationship.
What Bogdan Bespalov wrote
Against the backdrop of this new scandal, users recalled the blogger Bogdan Bespalov, who, according to him, had raised the issue of the ‘chemist-blogger’s’ relationships with very young girls as far back as October 2025.
Bespalov claimed that the adult man allegedly chose girls aged 16–18 as his partners, without technically breaking the law, but ‘moulded them in his own image’.
According to Bespalov, the blogger’s girlfriend at the time allegedly wrote to him asking him to delete a video so that her parents would not see who she was seeing.
These claims represent Bespalov’s own position. There is no official confirmation or legal assessment of them.
At present, the story surrounding Repich remains largely a moral and ethical debate on social media.
Critics argue that the significant age gap and the potential imbalance in experience between the partners raise questions, even if the girl is of legal age.
Supporters of the couple respond that an 18-year-old has the right to make their own choices, and that outsiders should not interfere in the private lives of adults.
Repich himself insists that he and Daryna love each other, are happy together and have no intention of changing their relationship because of criticism on social media.
