Defence forces struck a Roscosmos facility in Penza
Units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces have struck a leading enterprise in the field of space, aviation and military instrumentation in the Penza region of Russia.
On the night of 1 July, the ‘Research Institute of Physical Measurements’ JSC in the Penza region of the Russian Federation came under attack.
Hits and smoke were observed on the premises.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces noted that the enterprise is one of the key players in Russia’s space, aviation and military instrument manufacturing sector. It is part of the ‘Russian Space Systems’ holding company, which is a subsidiary of the state corporation ‘Roscosmos’.
The plant manufactures sensors for Iskander cruise and ballistic missiles, ‘Kalibr’ and Kh-101 cruise and ballistic missiles, components for the on-board systems of the Su-34, Su-35 and Tu-95MS aircraft, as well as equipment for military space programmes, in particular reconnaissance satellites.

Russian troops use these facilities to transport personnel, weapons, ammunition and logistical supplies.
