Another 15 Russian publications have been added to the list of anti-Ukrainian books
This was reported by the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine.
The State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, continues to monitor the publishing sphere of Russia, the Republic of Belarus and the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
The aim of this work is to identify the publication and distribution of anti-Ukrainian publishing products.
Based on the results of the checks, a special list of book publications is being compiled, the content of which is aimed at eliminating Ukraine's independence, promoting violence, inciting inter-ethnic, racial or religious hatred, as well as justifying terrorist acts and human rights violations.
In February, 15 new publications with anti-Ukrainian content were added to this list based on proposals from the Security Service of Ukraine.
Most of them are new books published after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.
These include publications by Russian publishers Vecher, Yauza and Knizhny Mir, which are subject to sanctions, as well as publishers AST and Eksmo, which are linked to Russian citizens who are subject to sanctions.
According to the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting, the content of these publications has a clear anti-Ukrainian bias.
In particular, they justify Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, deny the sovereignty of the Ukrainian state, and spread propaganda myths about "neo-Nazism" and the so-called "civil war."
Among the publications that have attracted particular attention is O. Ivanov's book "How to make Ukraine Russia again? Let's make Little Russia great again." In it, the author denies Ukraine's right to exist as an independent state and promotes the idea of its absorption by Russia.
The list also includes I. Kachanovsky's work "The Maidan Massacre in Ukraine," which promotes the theses used by Russian propaganda to discredit the Revolution of Dignity.
In addition, the list includes O. Sevastyanov's book "Ukraine and Us. Why and for What Russia is Fighting Ukraine," in which the author justifies Russian aggression and calls it "denazification."
The State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting reminded that the distribution of publications included in this list may constitute a criminal offence under the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
As of today, 649 titles of propaganda books have been added to the list.
