Drones have attacked Sterlitamak in Bashkortostan; damage has been reported at petrochemical plants
In the city of Sterlitamak, in the Republic of Bashkortostan, an attack by strike drones took place on an industrial zone. According to the head of the region, several drones were shot down, and their debris fell onto the premises of one of the enterprises, causing a fire.
The specific enterprise that was hit has not been officially specified. However, the Ukrainian monitoring channel Supernova+ and the Russian Telegram channel Astra report that the target was JSC ‘Sintez-Kauchuk’, which is part of the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant.
Sterlitamak is home to enterprises within the petrochemical cluster, including JSC ‘Sintez-Kauchuk’ and JSC Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant ‘SNKhZ’, which are located in the same industrial zone. They specialise in the production of synthetic rubbers, phenolic antioxidants, high-octane petrol additives, synthetic polymers and other petrochemical products.
In 2024, these enterprises were merged and became part of the Roskhim group of companies.
According to available information, damage was sustained in various parts of the production facilities. There are no official figures on casualties or the extent of the damage. The Ukrainian military has not commented on the strike.
These facilities had already been targeted by drone strikes in early November 2025.
