Voice of Resistance: The role of Ukrainian art was discussed in Paris
The Cultural Centre of the Ukrainian Embassy in France announced the event on its Facebook page.
Culture as a form of resistance
The main theme of the meeting was the rethinking of art: since 2022, it has become not only a means of self-expression, but also a powerful tool for resistance, the preservation of memory and national experience.
The following took part in the discussion:
-
Svitlana Fomenko — Director of the Cultural Centre and Counsellor at the Embassy of Ukraine in France;
-
Ukrainian artists: Polina Moroz, Yarema Malashchuk, Roman Khimey and Inna Alimova.
Key points
Participants emphasised that today the voice of Ukrainian culture is louder than ever. Art captures experiences ranging from the front line to forced displacement and active citizenship, becoming a vital component of Ukraine’s international advocacy.
The event in Paris served as a platform for reflection on how culture helps preserve identity in times of great upheaval.
