Japan to provide almost USD 6 billion in aid to Ukraine in 2026
Japan will provide Ukraine with almost $6 billion in financial assistance in 2026. This was announced by Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the social network X.
The President thanked Japan and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi for the decision to provide additional support. According to him, the total amount of assistance will amount to almost USD 6 billion and will be a significant contribution to the defence of Ukraine against Russian aggression.
The Head of State stressed that Japan demonstrates leadership not only in the Pacific region but also globally. Such support, according to Zelenskyy, strengthens Ukraine's resilience and, at the same time, the international rules-based order.
According to the Ukrainian side, financial assistance from partners remains key to ensuring macroeconomic stability, budget support and the country's recovery amid a full-scale war that has been going on for four years.
