Import procedures for components have been simplified for arms manufacturers: what has changed
This was announced by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence.
The ministry explained that three key procedures have been updated:
- the requirement to submit a number of documents has been abolished — these must now be included in the customs declaration;
- it is now permitted to submit confidential documents and additional information up until the point of submitting the customs declaration;
- the requirement to submit copies of contracts, technical specifications and other documents to customs three days prior to the start of customs clearance has been abolished.
“This will speed up the logistics of components, as well as production processes at defence industry enterprises. It will enable manufacturers to supply finished products to the Ukrainian Defence Forces more quickly and ramp up the production of weapons and equipment,” the Ministry of Defence noted.
The new simplified customs clearance conditions apply to all defence sector enterprises, as well as to co-contractors of state contracts and subcontractors in the field of defence procurement.
As a reminder, it was previously reported that Ukraine is developing low-cost missiles to protect critical infrastructure in winter.
