Армія оборони Ізраїлю повідомила, що під час нічного удару по Бейруту було ліквідовано Абу Хамзу Рамі — керівника “Палестинського ісламського джихаду” у ліванському секторі.

The IDF stated that the strike was carried out on Monday night in the Beirut area. According to the Israeli military, Abu Hamza Rami had headed the organisation's branch in Lebanon for several years.

The IDF claims that he was responsible for planning and carrying out hundreds of attacks against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians.

The Israeli side also claims that Rami had recently been coordinating attacks from Lebanon, training militants from the Nuhba unit, recruiting new members and supplying them with weapons.

During Operation Northern Arrows, according to the IDF, he directed the movement of militants along the Syrian-Lebanese border and their actions against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli army said that his elimination significantly weakens the ability of Palestinian Islamic Jihad to carry out operations against Israel.

The IDF emphasised that it would continue its efforts to neutralise threats to the state.

Earlier it was reported that the US and Israel are accelerating their operation against Iran. According to American sources, the US is actively using its stockpiles of anti-aircraft interceptors and other ammunition.
