King Charles III’s secret meeting with Prince Harry: an insider reveals the details
Royal expert Catherine Mayer explained to *People* that the aim was to give the family a chance at reconciliation. In addition to the people mentioned above, Queen Camilla was also present at the meeting. According to the insider, she is a key figure in any reconciliation between father and son.
“She is an integral part of Charles’s life. Without her, there can be no reconciliation with him,” said Mayer.
Queen Camilla’s presence sparked interest in the British media due to her complicated relationship with Prince Harry. In his memoir *Spare*, the Duke of Sussex accused his stepmother of allegedly passing information about him to the British press in order to boost her own image.
However, Harry later stated that he does not consider Camilla to be a “wicked stepmother”. In an interview with *Good Morning America*, he said that he loves all members of his family despite their differences, and described the Queen Consort herself as someone who had tried to adapt to life within the monarchy.
Buckingham Palace confirmed that the family meeting had taken place, but emphasised that they would not be publishing any photographs or details of the conversation. This decision, as explained by another source close to the royal family, was a deliberate one.
“It is better for people not to know anything about these meetings. They should be given the opportunity to rebuild these family ties,” said the insider.
For Charles III, this meeting marked his first opportunity in four years to see his grandchildren, who live in the US. He last saw Archie and Lilibet in 2022.
