The Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill suspended operations following a suicide attack on 3 April.

Production has been suspended for safety reasons and to deal with the aftermath of the attack, according to the company’s website.

What happened to the Obukhiv Cardboard and Paper Mill

On 3 April 2026, an enemy drone struck the Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill. This is not the first strike against the plant.

Due to the attack, the production process has been temporarily halted. Management and the relevant services are monitoring the situation in real time.

The company’s website states that the plant produces exclusively civilian products – it has no links to military or defence infrastructure. Specifically:

  • “Obukhiv 65” toilet paper;
  • the “Dyvo” product range;
  • other sanitary and hygiene products;
  • corrugated packaging.

All of these are used daily in thousands of Ukrainian homes.

“We hope that the Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill will certainly return to full operation so that we can continue to provide people with our high-quality and much-needed products,” the company said in a statement.

As a reminder, on 3 April, a drone struck a residential high-rise building in Obukhiv – five people were injured, including a child.

In Fastiv, the strike hit a veterinary clinic, where around 20 animals were killed.

During the night and early morning of 3 April, Russia launched one of its largest combined strikes on Ukraine – over 579 munitions were simultaneously fired at various regions of the country.
