Kyivstar launches the 'Ambitious' educational grant programme: what we know
This is stated in the company’s press release.
As part of the initiative, 30 students will receive financial support to study for a bachelor’s degree at the country’s leading private universities: KSE University, the Ukrainian Catholic University and American University Kyiv.
“As someone with three higher education qualifications, I know from personal experience that opportunities open up for those who want to learn and have ambition. We are simply here to ensure that circumstances do not become a barrier,” said Oleksandr Komarov, CEO of Kyivstar.
Kyivstar systematically supports the country and society, in particular by helping those affected by the war and talented young people. After all, it is education and practical knowledge that form the foundation of Ukraine’s development.
The grant programme covers a wide range of disciplines that influence the economy and technology. It opens up opportunities to study at three leading private universities, each of which has its own focus and modern educational programmes.
American University Kyiv (AUK)
Students will be able to choose programmes at the intersection of technology and business, including: Digital Experience Design & AI, Global Finance, Global Management, Data Science & AI, Software Engineering and AI, Business Administration and Marketing Science.
“We are sincerely grateful to Kyivstar for this strategic partnership and investment in Ukraine’s most valuable asset – its young people. These grants are not just about access to education; they are about believing in the potential of a new generation of leaders, innovators and change-makers. It is particularly important that these young people have the opportunity to pursue higher education to American standards whilst remaining in their homeland, and to shape Ukraine’s future today. Together, we are nurturing leaders who will become the driving force behind the development of a strong, modern and successful nation,” comments Dan Rice, President of American University Kyiv.
KSE University
The curriculum focuses on a strong analytical and economic foundation: business economics, economics and big data, software engineering, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
"We want strong applicants to enrol at KSE University based on their potential and ambitions, rather than going abroad or giving up on their studies due to financial circumstances. The ‘Ambitious’ scholarship programme gives them access to education in fields that will shape the development of the Ukrainian economy and technology sector: business economics, big data, software engineering, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. “These graduates will work on solutions for business, the state and the reconstruction of Ukraine,” says Tymofiy Brik, Rector of KSE University.
Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU)
The university offers technical and applied programmes: computer science, IT and business analytics, and robotics.
"For the Ukrainian Catholic University, the partnership with Kyivstar is an example of responsible business leadership at a time when Ukraine’s future is being shaped through education and the development of young people. We are sincerely grateful for the willingness to invest in talented students who are already preparing today to bring about change in the fields of technology, analytics and social development, despite the difficult times of war. Such initiatives not only open up opportunities for young people, but also strengthen the bond between the university, business and a country that is rebuilding and looking to the future," comments Taras Dobko, Rector of the Ukrainian Catholic University.
The programme’s key focus is on supporting talented young people who, in addition to their high potential, find themselves in difficult life circumstances. Applicants wishing to study in Ukraine and contribute to its development are eligible to apply for the grant. Applications can be submitted by following the link.
