Magnetic storm approaching: when is the geomagnetic storm expected?
This was reported by the British Geological Survey.
A new magnetic storm is approaching Earth. This warning comes from the British Geological Survey.
According to scientists, the speed of the solar wind is currently slightly elevated. At the same time, the geomagnetic situation is expected to remain calm on 6 March.
Experts predict that the impact of the coronal hole will begin to be felt on 7 March. A G1-level magnetic storm is expected on that day.
According to preliminary estimates, the geomagnetic storm will be short-lived.
"We expect the speed of the solar wind to begin to slowly decrease on 8 March," according to a statement by space weather forecasters.
Magnetic storms are disturbances in the Earth's magnetic field caused by solar flares and solar wind streams.
They most often affect people who are sensitive to weather changes. During such periods, headaches, weakness, fluctuations in blood pressure, irritability or sleep problems may occur.
On days of increased geomagnetic activity, doctors advise reducing physical and emotional stress, getting more rest, and drinking plenty of water.
People with chronic illnesses are advised to monitor their well-being closely and keep necessary medications on hand.
