Magnetic storms on 21 April 2026 – what you are strongly advised not to do
Magnetic storm forecast for 21 April 2026 for people sensitive to weather changes
On 21 April 2026, moderate geomagnetic activity is forecast, with readings of 3–4 on the scale. On this day, people who are sensitive to weather changes are advised to pay closer attention to how they feel, avoid overexertion and refrain from making sudden changes to their usual routine.

This is according to data from the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Centre.

The peak of spring solar activity, as noted in the report, falls in the third week of April. Following the powerful solar flares observed in the middle of the month, space weather continues to affect weather-sensitive individuals.

According to the Space Weather Prediction Centre, active coronal holes have been detected on the Sun, directing a stream of solar wind straight towards Earth. Whilst on 20 April, increased geomagnetic activity with a K-index of 4 was expected – described in the article as a “magnetic event” but not yet a full-blown G-class storm – on 21 April, readings are expected to remain stable at 3–4 points, gradually subsiding by the evening.

Astrophysicist Serhiy Danilenko, quoted by the publication, notes that a K-index of 4 is not critical for the operation of power grids or satellites. At the same time, he says, the human body may be significantly more sensitive to such fluctuations, especially in large cities where the natural background is already distorted by electromagnetic smog.

Who should be cautious

People with chronic cardiovascular diseases and a tendency towards migraines will feel the impact most acutely. During this period, as the publication states, an increase in blood viscosity is often observed, which can lead to spikes in blood pressure.

Symptoms that may appear on this day include sudden headaches in the temples or the back of the head, sleep disturbances – insomnia or, conversely, overwhelming drowsiness, pain in the joints and old injuries, as well as irritability or feelings of anxiety for no apparent reason.

The article also notes that during such disturbances, the number of ambulance calls due to hypertensive crises increases by an average of 15–20%.

People who are sensitive to weather changes are advised on 21 April not to overindulge in caffeine or alcohol, not to overeat or consume heavy meals, not to engage in intense exercise, to avoid conflicts and nervous tension, and not to make sudden changes to their daily routine.

Caffeine and alcohol place an additional strain on the heart and blood vessels. Fatty, fried and salty foods can cause fluid retention in the body, leading to swelling and spikes in blood pressure. It is advised to postpone strenuous physical activity until calmer days, and emotional stress combined with the sun’s influence, as mentioned in the article, can exacerbate headaches or worsen one’s condition. Lack of sleep or sleeping for too long can also disorient the body, making it harder to adapt to such fluctuations.

Family doctor Marina Vovk advises giving up coffee on such days in favour of herbal tea with lemon balm. According to her, magnetic storms affect melatonin production, and an excess of caffeine only makes the blood pressure situation worse.

Among the basic recommendations for 21 April are contrast showers as a workout for the blood vessels, drinking pure still water to maintain hydration, minimising gadget use – especially an hour before bed – and taking light walks in the fresh air instead of intense workouts in the gym.

The end of April, it is noted, should be calmer. The next significant disturbance is only expected on 25 April. That is why the article advises treating today as a time for a gentle detox and slowing down the pace of life.

As reported by ThePublic, April is a crucial month for every gardener, as this is when plants are waking up and need proper care. Timely pruning not only shapes a beautiful crown but also stimulates vigorous flowering and yield
