Mykhailo Poplavskyi, a Ukrainian singer and former rector of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, has published his annual declaration. The document reveals substantial savings in various currencies.

Mykhailo Poplavskyi, a well-known Ukrainian singer, TV presenter, writer and former rector of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, has published his annual declaration in the register of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.

The document lists substantial savings in various currencies. In particular, Mykhailo Poplavskyi declared US$1,760,000, €1,510,000 and 3,500,000 hryvnias in cash.

He keeps part of the funds in bank accounts. The declaration lists 566,678 hryvnias in bank accounts, 364,786 hryvnias in other bank accounts, 2,483 US dollars and a further 24,500 hryvnias.

The declaration also lists property. Mykhailo Poplavskyi owns three plots of land in Kyiv and three plots of land in the Kirovohrad region. In addition, he owns a 75.8-square-metre flat and a 1,067.6-square-metre residential house in the capital.

Over the past year, he received 283,320 hryvnias in pension payments.

Mykhailo Poplavskyi also received income from teaching activities. Specifically, the declaration lists 827,691 hryvnias, 780,327 hryvnias and 208,989 hryvnias.

The report states that a significant portion of his income comes in the form of royalties. Mykhailo Poplavskyi owns the ‘Batkivska Khata’ restaurant chain and ‘Star Kava’ coffee shops, and is the co-author of books about his own success and the Ukrainian show business industry.
