New state app 112 allows you to call the police, rescuers and doctors via the Internet even without a mobile connection

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has launched the official 112 app, which works as a single window for calling all emergency services. It allows you to contact the police, the State Emergency Service, ambulance and gas service.

The main feature of the service is the ability to call for help via the Internet, in particular via Wi-Fi. This is especially important during blackouts or in areas with a lost mobile signal. The app can be used at breakdown points, shops or post offices where there is access to the network.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Leonid Timchenko urged Ukrainians to install the app for their relatives, especially the elderly and residents of small towns. According to him, if there is an internet connection, help can be called even without a mobile connection.

The mechanism is simple. The user presses the call button and reports the incident. Then the operator determines which services need to be involved, one or more at a time. This reduces response time and increases the efficiency of assistance in critical situations.
