Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure continue. As a result of the damage, consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Kherson regions are without power as of this morning.

In regions where security conditions allow, emergency repair work has already begun. Energy companies are working to restore damaged equipment to operation as quickly as possible.

Due to the consequences of previous massive Russian attacks, some regions of Ukraine are currently applying power restriction schedules for industry, as well as hourly power outage schedules for all categories of consumers. Information on the time and duration of possible power outages at a specific address can be found on the official websites of the regional power companies in the respective region.

Emergency power cuts are currently being enforced in the Kharkiv region. Previously published hourly power cut schedules in the region are temporarily suspended. A return to the forecast schedules will take place after the situation in the power system stabilises.

At the same time, Ukraine is seeing a decline in electricity consumption. As of 9:30 a.m. on 4 March, it was 8.2% lower than at the same time the previous day, on Tuesday.

This was due to sunny weather in most regions of the country, which increased the efficiency of household solar power plants. This, in turn, reduced the amount of electricity consumed by households from the general power grid.

At the same time, on 3 March, the daily maximum electricity consumption was recorded in the evening. It remained at the same level as the maximum of the previous day — Monday, 2 March.

In regions where hourly or emergency power cuts are in place, energy companies are calling for the economical use of electricity. Consumers are advised to limit the use of powerful electrical appliances and, if possible, to shift energy-intensive processes to night-time hours — after 10 p.m.

Experts also warn that the situation in the power system may change. Therefore, Ukrainians are advised to follow updates on the websites and official social media pages of distribution system operators — oblenergo.
