Daylight Saving Time 2026: how to prepare for the clock change tonight

This Sunday, 29 March, Ukraine will, as usual, switch to summer time. Despite numerous debates about abolishing this practice, the seasonal clock change remains in place, so Ukrainians should prepare their routines for the changes in advance

This is reported by Telegraf.

The exact moment of the change will occur at 03:00 on the night between Saturday and Sunday. It is at this time that the clocks must be set forward by one hour. This means that the day will become shorter, and we will sleep for one hour less. However, there is a positive side: daylight hours will appear longer, as the sun will set later in local time, bringing more light to the evenings.

Most modern gadgets, such as smartphones, laptops and smartwatches, will change the time automatically without any intervention. However, mechanical watches and older household appliances will need to be adjusted manually. It is also worth bearing in mind that your body may need a few days to fully adapt to the new rhythm. The first few mornings may feel harder due to the darkness, but evening walks in the sunlight will quickly make up for this discomfort.

Experts advise going to bed a little earlier today to minimise the impact of the ‘stolen’ hour on your well-being. Adjustment usually takes up to a week, after which your body clock fully adapts to the new schedule.
