On 24 March, as Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on Lviv, two babies were born in the shelter of a local maternity hospital. The boy was named Yaroslav, and the girl was named Sofiika.

This was reported by the Danylo Halytskyi Lviv National Medical University Hospital.

According to medical staff, the births took place in the hospital’s shelter during the heavy attack. Yaroslav was born weighing 3,520 grams and measuring 52 centimetres, whilst Sofiika weighed 2,400 grams and measured 47 centimetres.

Doctors also noted that the clinic’s shelter was equipped with everything necessary for safe deliveries. In particular, equipment was installed, the premises were stocked with medicines, and comfortable conditions were created for both the mothers and the newborns.

“Even in the most difficult moments, life continues to be brought into the world here,” the hospital stated.
